The Loba Movie Theater was created as a space to show Loba movies. Those stories explained in the Library were a good plot to create living stories. The movement, the time of each frame are a part of the art work. Animation is the way to give movement to the narrative. We have just started to play with animation. We are having a great time and this is the most important thing to do.

A Reason

Those verses from Maria Mercè Marçal were the main reason for this book. They are included in her posthumous poetry book: Rao del cos. I remember her a long time ago, I visited some friends and she was there, she just had her baby and she was milking her. Someone told me who she was, one of the greatest poets in Catalan language. I wish I could have talked to her, but I was too shy for that. I remember I loved the name she gave to the baby girl. And after that day, I have been reading her poetry. I had the great opportunity to see her milking her baby. I feel blessed for that.

They will come from the shadows

There was a urban legend when I was a young teenager. My friends told me that if someone gave birth in certain hospitals, the doctors stole the baby and gave them to another family in adoption, telling the mother that the baby was born dead. Many years after, this legend happened to be true. Many children were stolen and given to adoption. Many children were looking for their parents. The DNA matched families. I was wondering how those people could feel, how those beings are coming from the shadows.

Negraestrella was created from a song I heard when I was a child. I remember a young girl with a foreign accent singing a song about swallows and tiny swifts that know everything about life, love and the end of love. And there are the black stars in the morning. The swifts and swallows that will not come back.

"Last April the 30th I read that Ernesto Sabato passed away. It was my birthday and I could not think about this important lost, but I was really touched. I read from him "Sobre heroes y tumbas" (On heroes and tombs) and there was inside one the most disturbing chapter I've ever read: "Informe para ciegos" (Report on the blind). Time for mourning arrived and one day I found a copy of an old Braille alphabet. As a mourning for Ernesto, I decided to talk about blindness. But the image I had on my head was the light. Bright light instead of darkness. But to not forget that when we first see the light, we are completely blinded".

As well, we are a part of another kingdom or a kingdom of a kingdom above in the sky.
When the author saw the Milky Way for the first time, she was told that the galaxy was made of a goddess milk. We do not know exactly their size but we feel like a little life, micro bios, the ancient Greek word for germ. So depending on the scale, we are galaxies or little lives in kingdoms of animalia, vegetalia and mineralia.

"I had a bunch of a beautiful paper given to me by one of my professors at grad school. I just read Sandor Marai's book "Embers" and I was caught by the story. I had some new born images", said the author.
There is a story about newborn creatures and its protection. Blood and slime that accompany the mankind into the world, but also as a protective layer in our arrival into the world.

"To belong is to live". This phrase of Clarice Lispector has been the thread for this book. The introspective quality of her literature inspired a story about all we think we need for belonging. This is the first signature and hard cover book, a more serious one, more bookie. The book shows some clues, but at last, we only belong to our lives. The phrase sewn in a delicate gampi paper is one of those clues.

Ward is the third of those series of books related to the beloved. It is a book made of blood, like roses.
The author heard this poem read from a friend a long time ago. She was a poet and she passed.
The sense of exile still remains.

The last train has stopped at the last platform. No one is there to save the roses, no doves to alight a woman made of words. Time has ended. The ode fares no better than the foam.

"Hamama", as "Ya Nour" was inspired in John Berger's book From A to X. The lecture of those love letters made me familiar with words related to affection. Both words are related to beloved people. We do not know where Aida and Xavier are, probably they are somewhere in the middle east. Those Arabian words sound special and its meaning is surprising.

In John Berger's book From A to X, a woman, Aida, writes to her lover Xavier, who has been imprisoned. They cannot be together and future is the only thing to dream on.Those love letters from Aida are passionate and tender at the same time. Those letters are the only thing that connects the man with the outside, with the small details from every day's life . Those letters give Xavier a sense of normality among the abnormality. Aida recreates her desire for him and the days of tenderness writing these letters. "There is a future that has our names"
The vocabulary related to love and feelings was the main idea for this book.

The Book of the Snake and The Book of Loba were some of the first books in the library. They were mentally created in Taos. A rattle-snake and a wandering dog that looked like a white wolf were found in the area and there was a story to tell about that encounter. The author found some clues that might be useful to create a biography for those special beings.

The Library of the Loba is a tiny invisible library created by Teresa Gomez-Martorell. Even though she works mainly in printmaking, artist's books allows her to put together words, image and storytelling. The Library is a way to preserve and show such intimate objects that can be read in the privacy or in good company.

Things have their own life (las cosas tienen vida propia), said the gipsy Melquiades in one of her favorite books One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien Años de Soledad), from Gabriel GArcia Marquez. Storytelling is a way to give extraordinary meanings to ordinary facts of life. At last, there is no dullness in the every day life if we are capable to see how special and unique things are. It depends how we look our surroundings. Artist's books and visual poetry allows to work with those humble elements and give them a new dignity. Stories are an open field where the viewer may particpate and create their own story.
